The Paper Artist

Do you remember how, as a child, you could create all the friends you ever needed? Each doll or bear had a name and a personality all their own. Well this young girl didn't just use her imagination she also used her love of paper and her gift of carving that paper to bring animals and dolls of all shapes and sizes to life. Much to her mother's dismay, she cut up every interesting piece of paper she could find (often choosing a beautifully aged page from her mother's beloved dictionary).

She had so many paper friends that her mother began to worry she would never make any real ones. Of course, this didn't concern the girl at all. But, to make her mother happy, she began creating paper animals and dolls for the other children at school. They were positively delighted. Any animal they could imagine she could cut perfectly for them. In the end, the paper friends made the little girl more real friends than she ever imagined she would need.

The original (11 X 14") and prints are in my shop.

Hope you are having a great week!
:)
