The Secret Willow

There are days when I wander looking for my hiding spot. My sacred place of peace and serenity in the garden, even the nook under the kitchen window nestled against my shelf of favorite reading books. But, sometimes, those places are filled with voices, with traffic, even with the bitter cold. Those days are when I remember my secret willow. My willow tree always has a soft bed of moss to lay on. It provides just the right amount of shade so that when my toes stick out from under the tree they are warmed by the morning sun. It is quiet under my Willow except for the occasional squawk and whistle of the birds but even those noises seem to add to the melodic air that surrounds my Willow tree.
I try to go there as often as I can but it seems that I cannot find it but once a season. At least I am able to visit at the times I seem to need it's closeness the most.
This painting measures 5 X 7 and the vintage frame is slightly over 11 X 13 which is included with the painting! It will be available in my etsy shop here. (SOLD!) Thank You!!
And, don't forget I am still having a SALE through tomorrow. : )
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
And, I hope you are all enjoying the colder weather from the INSIDE next to a very warm fire.
: )

  4. She is wonderful. Your words reminded me a of a huge willow in the neighborhood where I grew up. We often sat under it to get out of the summer sun--back in the days before everyone had air conditioning!

  6. I love what you wrote here. I am not sure if this willow tree is one you actually go to or one that lives within you like the painting. Both are lovely!
