The Renaissance

I have a story for this girl but I think it would be better if I waited to tell you sweet readers. I know this painting could have many different interpretations and I want you to go where your interpretation leads you and let me know what you think (if you could). : ) I'm loving this torn paper and lots and lots of paint...

The more grooves and bumps I can feel from the paint and paper the happier I am. That sensory texture can be so inviting.

This is a big painting again....16 X 20. Too big to make prints but I am in love with this size canvas. She will be in my etsy shop.
The cold has come upon us again. Hopefully, not for long. We are heading to Yosemite National Park for a week of adventure on Monday! Pray it doesn't snow for us! ; )
I will try to post picks and I wish you all a wonderful week!

  1. OOh I like that you left this open to others interpretation but I can't wait to find out what the story is too lol :)

For me it seems as if she is releasing of her butterflies, all her worries and concerns drifting away, anything she was nervous about is now gone!!!

I will be checking back to read other peoples interpretations :)

  2. Cool painting.I love the textures too.
I would think of a mother letting her children go off into the world as they got older.
Can't wait to see what you thought of :)

  4. Oh Julie, you know - I just adore your works!
Is it about pregnancy or about falling in love (butterflies in the tummy)? :)
    Wonderful painting!

  5. Very lovely work! I do like all the texture as well...it really gives the painting a more "vintage" feel to it. Enjoy your vacation and I hope it does not snow!!! It's time for flowers and birds and (yes) butterflies. :) Theresa

  7. I love this painting, Julie. It feels to me like her babies are leaving home...there is a bittersweet joy to that.

  8. Well, as for my interpetation, I relate it to what I have been going through. Having lots of butterflies in my tummy and heart, from worries, etc. and finding the strengh to slowing let them go.
Can't wait to see what it is about!!!

  9. I LOVE this painting! I'm not the best at interpretation, but it seems, she's releasing the butterflies in her stomach, which means finding peace, or calm, less worries.

  11. Ooh, this is so pretty. I don't know what I think. It could mean so many things and I love that about it. I can't wait to hear the story. Have fun in the mountains and I pray for good weather.

  12. Well, either I'm having an emotional morning or this created a moment for me. There's something so relational about this painting for me. Thank you.
