Spring Cleaning

Spring is here and....yes! new dolls they are a comin'!! I have a sweet "Little Red" to share with you by this weekend. And now we interrupt this regularly disastrous studio for a moment of serenity....

If only for a moment....but the next time I post pics of the rest of my studio I plan to have the entire place clean!

Whew!

Some paintings the Little Man did when he was really little and that little half doll pin cushion down there....that was my great grandmother Nellie's!
I love it. : )

I used to have dozens of different paint colors but now I find I continually paint with the same 7 or 8 colors that have become my favorites and mix them as needed. Do you do that or do you prefer many choices?

I also have a shadow box with lovely sewn goodies and a painting to share soon! I hope this week finds you blessed, creative and with some warm sun upon your face. : )

  2. Thanks for a wee sneak peak into your creative space. Your little man is quite the budding artist - hope he keeps up with it! :) I think you have a very neat space. When I get going, things get strewn about and messy all over again! Yikes! In fact, it needs reorganization already (gulp). Hope you are having a wonderful day! Theresa

  3. I recently re-did my little art room, and it's very organized (as much as it can be), and I like it so much better! It's not so fustrating looking for stuff. I could live in yours--seriously--it makes me want to create :)

  4. My studio is chaos at the moment, we are going on holiday next week and everything has been dumped in my room along with all my work stuff lol.. it's a tip!!

As for the paints, I have just counted the ones out on my table(I have lots more on the shelves) and I have out 112 bottles...I am a total paintaholic, I see a pretty colour and I want it. That being said I do have some favourites that I use time and time again ;)

  5. Nice space to create. Love all the inspiration you surround yourself with. I agree, the same colors always grab me and no matter how many colors are in my collection, I always go to the faves.
    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Your studio is so bright and cheery overlooking a lemon tree!! I love the paintings your son did framed. I just finished framing one of Rose's paintings today. Don't those turn out to be your favorites? :)

  10. I love having a glimpse into your studio! It is fun to see other peoples' creative spaces...Yours is so cheerful and I love the "little man" art:) I have so many bottles of paint, but I do tend to gravitate to the same 8 or 10 colors as well...maybe I should cut down my supply, they are everywhere! Have a great evening!

  13. Hi Julie,
Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my spring paintings. I usually pick 5 or 6 colors and go with them for awhile and then switch it up. I almost always use those JoSonja potting shed background colors, my favs being mouse and raindrop. In fact, I painted my living room and bedroom the mouse color, I took it in to Benji Moore and had them mix a match and I LOVE it.

  16. Wow, what a lovely studio! Nothing like MINE! Hehee, are you sure I couldn't borrow it, for a time? Everything is just lovely, and seems to have sentimental value! Just charming!

Waiting to see your new dollie, too! Have a wonderful day!
