Waiting for Diego.....

He's just revealed his newest mural for the people and politicians of Mexico City to see. Of course, they are in awe, the crowds are overwhelming and Frida waits in the store front of one of the local shops... She gently picks up the sleeping cat of the store owner and holds a quiet conversation with the kitty as she watches. She will wait patiently, for now, to make her entrance when the moment is ripe....
Like most animals, the cat feels safe and sheltered in Frida's arms and begins to purr vigorously.
Tucked beneath her arm lies Frida's cherished Rosary which she adorned with various trinkets including an enamel bead with the initial of her beloved.
The time has come. No more waiting. She will greet him by cupping his round cheeks in her tiny hands and gently give him a sweet yet eager kiss for all to see.
Frida is on a 16 X 20 canvas so I won't be able to do prints.
: ( I'm not quite sure about selling her yet...but, we'll see.
I hope you all are having a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
I love reading about your adventures....
Until next time!

  15. I love that you included the story in this posting... but I have to say that the rosary gave me a little surprise, with its skull! Is this normal for rosaries. I'm not Catholic, so I don't know about these things. But I sure wasn't expecting it. It's a fabulous painting... I know when I complete a new painting, I have a hard time wanting to post it for sale... so I know where you're coming from on that end!
