I love to paint birds and cages, as most of you already know, maybe because I spend so much time watching them outside my window. We have mostly little finches, sparrows, wrens, crows and doves and I have managed to lure in the hummingbirds once I moved the bird feeder far enough away from theirs. This is my first dove. They're obviously not very colorful so I have shied away from painting them but then I love to paint crows and if they work so should a little lonesome dove. This picture just shows a little of the texture.....
very pretty! I love the lovely blues and creams you used for this. Wonderful work!

ReplyDeleteTonight and my walk with my dog. I saw a baby dove of pigeon ( in the dive family) he still needed to grow some feathers . Your sweet little piece brought that moment in my walk back to me. I love art that does that!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the bird under her skirt. I've thought some about creating a little space in the dolls body to place "something", but have yet to work it out in my head far enough to actually sit down and work it out for "real". Lovely art.
